2020 Honda HR-V Carries Over Unchanged Except For Higher Prices

The subcompact crossover carries over unchanged from the 2019 model year which was to be expected because the HR-V received significant updates last year. What’s surprising, though, is that all models are more expensive for 2020.
Including a $1,095 destination and handling fee that’s $100 higher than last year, the base 2020 Honda HR-V EX FWD now starts at $21,915, which accounts for an increase of $400 over the corresponding 2019 model, while the LX AWD model adds $500. The new-for-2019 HR-V Sport also adds $400 (FWD) and $500 (AWD), respectively.
The EX FWD is $350 more expensive while the EX AWD adds $450. The same price increases are applied to the EX-L FWD (+$350) and EX-L AWD (+$450), with the range-topping Touring AWD model also adding $450.
All models continue with the same 1.8-liter i-VTEC four-cylinder gasoline engine rated at 141 HP and 127 lb-ft (172 Nm) of torque. Sadly, the four-pot is only available with a CVT as the six-speed manual transmission was ditched last year. Among the updates introduced for model year 2019 were exterior design upgrades including refreshed headlights, bumpers, grille and taillights, as well as new Sport and Touring trims.

The Sport trim brings 18-inch wheels and blackout trim while the Touring model features exclusive 17-inch machined alloys, full-LED headlights, fog lights, and dark chrome trim. The HR-V Touring also offers an upgraded interior featuring double-stitched leather seats with 8-way power for the driver.
HR-V Sport trims and higher also gained a 7-inch touchscreen Display Audio system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration. Finally, the Honda Sensing suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies is standard on HRV EX and above.
