Neal's Fantasy Factory Fabricates the 2017 Acura HSX Hybrid ConceptI thought I'd try something a bit more "extreme" and controversial this time around. I've always liked Acura's SUV-X concept (except for the color) and how they designed the front end is a pretty unique interpretation of the plenum theme. I recently saw an old Audi 80 3-door which to this day is still looking sharp. And the auto shows have had some cool 2+2 concepts lately, so I was looking at those, too. I'm sure some will have strong opinions about this rendering, but it makes for an interesting re-interpretation of the Acura "hot hatch". A date of 2017 suggests it's a bit more futuristic and longer "down the road".

Neal's Fantasy Factory Wagon-izes the TLX Concepthttp://vtec.net/news/news-item?news_item_id=1178489Neal's Fantasy Factory has been running at full capacity, lately turning three shifts just to meet demand for the wildly successful CLX Coupe. The CLX's broad appeal is not a surprise in the North American marketplace, where coupes have long been hot sellers, but now the Fantasy Factory decided to venture out into more dangerous territory - the Sport Wagon.
Sport Wagons are generally loved by enthusiasts, but seem to be a tougher sell to the general audience, losing out to tippy crossovers and sport utes. As someone who recently endured the 2014 Atlanta Snowpocalypse, where I witnessed endless scenes of crossovers, pickup trucks, and sport utes resting on their roofs in ditches, I personally prefer to stay closer to the ground, in a lighter weight, more agile vehicle, such as my TSX Sportwagon. I would love to add SH-AWD and at least 50% more horsepower to the TSX Sportwagon's equation. With the ability to leverage the upcoming TLX's power train, this TLX Wagon concept could be the ticket. Just like the CLX, we could see a range of engines starting with the TLX's naturally aspirated 2.4L 4-cylinder, progressing up to a 280hp 2.0L VTEC Turbo, then on to a N/A 3.5L V6, and ultimately a turbocharged V6, hooked to a next-generation SH-AWD system. Oh, and a 2-motor hybrid option would be dandy as well.
Does all of this sound a little bit far fetched? Perhaps. But remember, Neal's Fantasy Factory is grid-neutral, powered entirely by dreams.

Neal's TOV Fantasy Factory Fabricates the Fabulous 2016 Acura CLX!Over the years, there have been rumors concerning whether or not Acura would ever revive the CL coupe. These rumors have continued on into recent years, though we've never heard anything concrete from reliable sources. Well, perhaps this gorgeous CLX coupe concept (clearly derived from the TLX Prototype that was revealed last week in Detroit) will be enough to convince the powers-that-be that it's again time for Acura to have a proper coupe in the lineup.
Imagine a CLX Type-S, with SH-AWD, a turbocharged 3.5L V6 (does 450hp sound good?), offered with your choice of either a 9-speed automatic transmission or a 7-speed manual transmission. At a lower price point, we could see an "entry level" high performance version sporting a ~300hp 2.0T, along with SH-AWD and 6MT or 7DCT. Of course there would be more mainstream versions offered, with milder 4- and 6-cylinder engine tunes.
Are we dreaming? Probably, but that's what Neal's TOV Fantasy Factory is all about.
