Your Brain Won’t Be Able To Comprehend The 2088 Honda CyberRace Concept

https://www.carscoops.com/2018/07/brain-wont-able-comprehend-honda-cyberrace-concept/

Will this insane Honda racing car ever see the light of day? No. Will a racing car as insane as this be produced in our lifetimes? Probably not. Nevertheless, the Honda CyberRace created by Frederic Le Schiellour is incredible to look at and offers a fresh take on what’s actually considered an automobile.

Le Schiellour’s project started with a vision of what racing cars from the year 2088 could look like. He opted for Japan as the country to host the first race and has imagined a racetrack built ten meters above the ground, connected between buildings. It is also transparent meaning those on ground level can look and see the cars above them.

As for the CyberRace itself, the first thing you’ll notice is that it has six wheels and on initial impressions, they appear to be square. However, the wheels are in fact circular, they’re just hidden behind square arches and wheel covers.

Because this is the year 2088, there’s obviously no need for a driver. Consequently, the profile of the CyberRace has been kept exceptionally low and in the center of the car is where you’ll find the powertrain which looks more like the insane of a computer than any current racing car. Obviously, it’s all-electric and would deliver earth-shattering levels of torque and horsepower.

Overall, the shape isn’t too dissimilar from the Roborace car currently in development due to the presence of high wheel arches and a slim body. A massive front splitter and underbody aerodynamics would help suck the CyberRace to the track’s surface.

While we’d love to see human drivers remain behind the wheel of racing cars as long as we live, the truth is that we don’t know if they will or if autonomous racers will take over. If that second scenario is what happens, we have our fingers crossed the cars look something like this.
